Villa Torre della Quercia – Tuscany, Italy
Dating back over 1,000 years Torre della Quercia was formally the look-out tower for the village of Semifonte. It has since been beautifully restored with a converted barn to be a contemporary and luxurious country home that blends spectacular original features with modern amenities and furnishings.
In the Hay Barn you will find the well equipped kitchen with access out to the gazebo for alfresco dining, a large dining room, and two gorgeous double en-suite bedrooms.
A walkway leads from the Hay Barn to the Old Tower, where the terrace enjoys magical panoramic views across the Tuscan hills.
The Old Tower itself has ample space to relax and unwind with three vaulted sitting rooms featuring comfy creamy white sofas, subtle lighting, handmade terracotta floor tiles, arched windows and original beamed ceilings. On this ground floor you will also find a double/twin en-suite bedroom. On the first floor there are a further three en-suite bedrooms as well as a further sitting room/study. These spacious bedrooms benefit from wonderful views of the countryside, the towers of San Gimignano and the church of San Donnino. Up another set of steps at the top of the tower you will find the en-suite master bedroom which features the most incredible views.
Outside, the infinity pool is situated below the tower with another delightful gazebo area as well as Jacuzzi corner and plenty of sun loungers where one can while away the days with a book and some good local wine. Torre della Quercia is the perfect venue for a large gathering of friends or family with ample of space, absolute privacy and all the additional services one might require to make one’s holiday completely relaxing and stress free. Nearby there is plenty to see and do, be it walking, biking, wine tasting, cultural explorations to San Gimignano or Siena. However, it may be that you just can’t draw yourself away from the magic of Torre della Quercia and those spectacular and dreamy views!
