Anassa – Cyprus

Anassa – Cyprus

Anassa is one of our favourite places to go for a truly spoiling family holiday. With its majestic hillside setting on the west coast of the island, looking out over Chrysochou Bay, there’s every reason why you may not want to venture anywhere else for your entire stay. Designed as an exclusive Greek village, with a square and traditional chapel, it sits in twenty acres of gardens, lawns and pools that slope all the way down to the secluded private beach. Mediterranean living doesn’t get more appealing.

Fabulous facilities, excellent childcare and activities for all ages mean you can have as active or inactive time as you like. The warm and inviting turquoise waters of the bay play host to sailing, diving, paddle boarding, kayaking and more, while the choice of land based activities is impressive. This unspoilt part of Cyprus has lots to discover, from dense forests to natural grottos, and excursions and experiences can easily be arranged by the concierge.

food

There are four restaurants and four bars at Anassa, celebrating Cypriot, Mediterranean and international fusion cuisine. From casual to fine dining and daily changing menus, there’s a dizzying array of local seafood, with the emphasis firmly on fresh produce and the pleasure of eating together. Cypriots love to dine outside, and sitting out on the taverna terraces looking out over the bay, sharing a plate of delicious meze is a must for a holiday here. The weekly events and barbecues in the village square are a particular highlight. Children’s menus and eating times are well catered for too!

activities

No visit to Anassa should be without a treatment in the Spa. Consistently ranked as one of the best resort Spas in the world by Condé Nast, this Roman style oasis uses marine derivatives in its treatments – therapeia being the Greek for healing. There are eighteen treatment rooms, saunas, steam baths and a saltwater exercise pool, as well as a fitness room, squash court and yoga classes.

And the girls in your family will definitely want to book a Twinkle Toe Fun – a pedicure, smoothie and cookies! There’s so much here for all the family. The dedicated water sports facilities are first rate, with an RYA sailing centre and PADI courses on offer. Guests can rent a motor boat, and the resort can arrange excursions with picnics and yacht charter. From pottery making to stargazing with an astronomer, from jeep safaris and local excursions, to a game of tennis, Anassa will easily fill your week full of activities.

family

A stay here is an adventure for children and a holiday for parents. The excellently designed kids club (available at an additional cost) caters for babies and children up to twelve years of age, with trained and experienced nannies looking after little ones and teams of experts organising creative and sporting activities for the older ones. Guests can pre-order essential baby items, such as nappies and there are children’s menus in the restaurants.

Anassa even has a resident photographer, who’ll arrange a family photo shoot for priceless holiday memories and there is also a babysitting service for guests who’d like a relaxing evening or dine out. Bookings for the kids club can be made by the half day, full day or for weekly packages.

sustainability

Environmental sustainability is a key part of the ethos at Anassa. They aim wherever possible to reduce or mitigate their ecological footprint. The local community is engaged, both in sourcing produce and materials and in employing Cypriot staff, whilst also promoting local customs and traditions by sponsoring events. They donate food and services to local hospitals, churches, and schools, whilst also fostering an atmosphere of employee volunteerism by encouraging staff to participate in beach cleanings and charity events.

Several energy management initiatives have been introduced, like LED lighting and motion detectors to reduce unnecessary expenditure. As much heating as possible is also provided by Pellet and EcoFuel boilers.
