Killiehuntly Hayloft – The Scottish Highlands, Scotland
The Hayloft is a charming and cosy stone cottage with lovely exposed wooden beams and exquisitely furnished with a mix of both Danish and Scottish craftsmanship. It the perfect romantic bolt hole for two or cosy retreat for one. It has a small kitchen when you enter as well as a downstairs shower room, you then head upstairs to an open plan living area with a sitting area at one end and a large double bed at the other (this can also be twinned.) The Hayloft is located on the edge of the The Killiehuntly Farm. It has its own private entrance and a veranda overlooking the mountains.

There’s a large double room with sitting area on the first floor, with views over the hills beyond. This room can be made up as a double or a twin room. On the ground floor you’ll find a cosy kitchen and dining space, and a shower room.

Self-catered giving you the freedom to cook whatever you like during your stay. The farm office at Killiehuntly has a little shop, where you can find curated food provisions as well as local spirits & beers to enjoy during your stay.

The cottage is part of Wildland Ltd whose main aim is to restore and conserve natural landscapes and local communities so there are plenty of activities based around this. Explore this beautiful region by foot. Follow the paths or go your own way for a day with a well organised rucksack and a tasty Killiehuntly Piece. Fishing is very popular here. Spend the day with an experienced ranger who will also teach you about all the various different wildlife here. Take the fat tire mountain bikes out for a ride off the beaten track.
Go for a wild swim in the Tromie River. Have a ‘pony picnic’. Try the sauna yurt and work up a sweat. You can also visit the local Ruthven Barracks, one of the best preserved British barracks built during the Jacobite uprising or head to the Speyside whisky distillery.
The Killiehuntly Estate
Located within the Carirngorms National Park, Killehuntly is just a two hour drive north of Edinburgh, yet you will feel like you are in another world when you arrive here. This estate is bursting with breathtaking natural beauty. Carirngorms National Park is home to an abundance of wildlife, castles and distilleries, excellently located within the Scottish Highlands. If you are a fan of country pursuits activities range from Deer Stalking, pony picnics, wild swimming, fishing and cycling. There are also endless walking paths and trails that will take you on adventure through dense woodlands, lakes, rivers and valleys.
