Val d’Isère Top 10

The top ten things to do whilst on holiday with Fish&Pips!

1. Après ski at the Folie Douce

If you like a spot of après ski then the Folie Douce is not to be missed. The live bands play on the terrace from 3pm, people dance on the tables all afternoon and a party atmosphere is lively to say the least.

2. Ski the trees in Le Fornet

Le Fornet has some of the best off-piste skiing in Val d’Isère, especially in the trees. Top this off with a lunch at the Signal or Edelweiss and you will have experienced Val d’Isère at its finest.

3. Take the ‘Up and Over’

This chairlift, official name Le Lessiers, connects the Le Fornet to the Solaise ski area. It’s not your ordinary chairlift, more like a fairground ride! It takes you to the top of the peak and steeply down the other side making your tummy flip.

4. Dick’s Tea Bar

A night out at the legendary Dick’s Tea Bar is a must. DJ nights are normally the best, but no matter what night you go you’ll be sure to feel it the next morning!

5. First run of the day

Make sure you get first lifts to experience some of Val d’Isère’s finest piste skiing. OK and Orange pistes from the top of the Bellevarde all the way down to La Daille are not to be missed first thing.

6. Fondue/Raclette at Le Clochetons

If your ski holiday isn’t complete without a cheese fix, then you can certainly get that here! This large and lively Savoyard restaurant is in the old town and you can really enjoy the local cuisine.

7. Coffee and pastries at Chevallot

Perfectly located on the main strip, watch as the world goes by whilst feasting on scrummy coffees, cakes and other homemade delights.

8. Ski La Face

Run the gauntlet of Val d’Isère’s notorious black run, La Face, back down to the village at the end of the day.

9. Parapente Off the Solaise

Get the best of the Val d’Isère from the air by tandem parapente – an exhilarating way to end the day.

10. Open air ice skating

Swap your skis or board for some ice skates for a couple of hours and take to the open air ice rink. You’ll be surprised how different the technique is and how much fun you’ll have.
