What to expect when you go on a catered chalet holiday

16th March 2023

There are general catered chalets holidays and then there are F&P catered chalet holidays. Ours have that something special – our magic touch.

From the moment you decide to holiday with us we will make sure your experience is one to remember for all of the right reasons.

Our UK concierge team will make sure no element of your trip is left untouched: from organising ski lessons, child care, transfers, lunches or anything in between, we will point you in the right direction using only our trusted partners.

Our professional chefs will cater especially for you. Let them know any dietary requirements, firm favourites, dislikes or special occasions during your pre-holiday phone call.

To welcome you in resort our friends at Slide Candy will arrive at your chalet to fit your skis and boots, your pre-ordered lift passes will be waiting for you and the champagne will be flowing – hello holiday!

BREAKFAST

Is quite the feast! For five mornings there is a chef and host catering to your every need. On these days choose to wake up the French way with croissants, pain au chocolates or freshly baked baguettes. Or if a full English is more your thing, build it your way with eggs (how you like them), English bacon and all the trimmings. The daily changing chef’s special is not to be missed and ranges from eggs benedict to a superfood breakfast bowl. If you still have space there is porridge, granola, yoghurts and fruit as well to top you up. On the other two mornings the only thing missing is the chef to cook you a hot breakfast but we can guarantee the rest of the breakfast options will keep you fully filled up until lunch. Of course every morning the caffeine flows freely all morning with a selection of Clipper teas and artisan coffee.  And that’s you set for a day of exploring the Three Valleys!

SKI TIME

Hit the slopes either on your own or with one of our recommended ski schools. Don’t forget your eleven o’clock hot chocolate stop, add a drop of rum if that is what tickles your fancy.  Next up lunch! Being foodies we have a long list of our recommended restaurants here. After lunch ski some more in the delightful fluffy snow that has hopefully been falling.

APRÈS & AFTERNOON TEA

When you have had enough, ski the Lapin piste (arguably the best home run in the valley) back to Méribel Village.  Stop by our local village pub – The Lodge Du Village to witness some of the resorts best après bands. Finesse your ski boot shuffle and toffee vodka drinking skills. Take the short walk back to your chalet to relax those aching muscles in the hot tub after having a cheeky slice of freshly baked cake and a good cup of tea.

EVENING

After a long soak in the bath fall into your comfy chalet sofas in front of an open fire.  Our experienced host will pour you a glass of sparkling or open a nice cold beer for while you taste some delicious canapés. Next up our professional chefs will take you through a delightful culinary experience of starter, mains and dessert, of course paired with our Verre Gourmand wines. To finish off the evening you will be left to sample an array of our favourite French cheeses. Round off the evening with a Nespresso coffee or a herbal tea before retiring to your very enticing bed.

Your menu for the day might look something like the below, created by our current very talented chef George,

Breakfast Special: Banana smoothie

Afternoon Tea: Lemon drizzle cake

Canapées: Hummus on flatbread with roast pepper. Apple and chive scotch quail egg with wholegrain mustard mayonnaise
