Tucked away, down a quiet lane at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, not far from both Pollenca and Alcudia, Villa Can Queneilles is a good balance between remote and cosmopolitan. Built not so long ago, in traditional finca style, it’s perfect for families and for exploring the north of the island. The gardens, looking down over the Sa Pleta valley, cover nearly four acres and are planted full of lavender, olives and borders of native flowers and shrubs, with a part left to wilderness – just waiting for some adventurous children (and you might even encounter the odd goat or two!). Terraces surround the villa, ready for sunny breakfasts, long lunches and memorable dinners. Inside, there’s a fabulous feeling of spaciousness, with open plan living looking out onto the terraces and gardens beyond. The two master bedrooms have dressing rooms and luxurious bathrooms with walk in showers, whilst the three other rooms (a double and two twins) are all good sizes. There’s also a huge games room on the lower ground floor, for children and adults of all ages.
