Chalet La Vue – Zermatt, Switzerland
Tucked away, just above the centre of the village, La Vue is another venture of the Julen family – whose hospitality pedigree in Zermatt is second to none. They’ve created six sophisticated apartments with all the luxuries of hotel living for skiers who like the good things in life and independence. Modern, bright and spacious apartments, sleeping a family of four to a party of ten, each one has panoramic views over the roofs and mountains, with floor to ceiling windows, balconies and baths in each room.
La Vue is only a couple of minutes from the church and is reached through a private tunnel and lift – one of our favourite features! The team here can fill your fridge before you arrive and top it up during your stay; organise your lift passes; sort out a private instructor; reserve a table for lunch – an essential requirement in our book – or even find tickets for events in the village.

The six apartments vary in size, with some looking over the village, the Matterhorn, or both, but all of them designed, decorated and furnished to exacting standards. With open plan living spaces, well-equipped kitchens and comfortable bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and some with large bathtubs in the rooms – all the apartments have balconies and all are havens to return to after a day on the slopes.
We love the quirky little design touches everywhere, the sheepskin throws (the family has its own flock) and the contemporary alpine feel. For large parties, Apartment Panorama on the top floor is luxurious mountain living at its best, whilst the two and three bedroomed Zermatt Village Apartment and Edelweiss Apartment are luxury family retreats.

La Vue takes apartment living to luxurious heights by providing a continental breakfast each morning (you don’t even need to lay the table) and guests can order three course dinners in the evening from the professional kitchen. You can also choose from an a la carte room service menu, which includes options for children, and alpine staples such as fondue, or take a private chef to cook in your own apartment. Just sit back with a glass of wine and chat to the chef whilst your dinner is prepared in front of you.

Zermatt itself is a playground for sport enthusiasts and nature lovers. Naturally the Spa at La Vue is everything you’d expect and make sure you book a treatment when you stay here. There’s a whirlpool, sauna with quite exceptional views, steam bath and a team of in-house therapists offering a comprehensive list of treatments.

Zermatt truly comes alive in the summer. You’ll find this mountain haven bursting with different activities, including climbing, hiking, or mountain biking! Even better, it’s all surrounded by stunning the scenery of the Swiss Alps, with staggering glacial peaks overlooking vast and beautiful lakes. Rising above it all is the famous Matterhorn, inviting relaxing excursions and experiences. Zermatt village is equipped with everything you might want.
Simply strolling through the classically alpine streets is invigorating enough, but why not try your hand at football, tennis, and even beach volleyball with a mountain backdrop!
