Big House On The Hill – Wales

Big House On The Hill – Wales

Built in 1796, The Big House on the Hill is a loose translation of its Welsh name; ‘Plas Uchaf’ (literally ‘Highest Place’). This glorious retreat stands in a unique elevated position overlooking the Tanat Valley, with stunning views, no near neighbours and beautiful peaceful gardens. Found up a long sweeping private drive, the 4 acres of garden have spectacular views, a sweeping large lawn, outside seating area, a 6 seater hot tub and a group outdoor dining area.

The house is set over three floors, with elegant reception rooms and 7 bedrooms. There’s ample space to relax and unwind with a family TV room, formal lounge, a snug, large family kitchen and big dining room. There are also plenty of cosy seating areas to enjoy the open fires and curl up with a good book, or soak up the countryside views.

It’s all about the detail here – throughout your stay you’ll noticing all the quirky little touches and creature comforts! Lovingly restored by the interior designer owners, they’ve used some stunning fabrics, antique furniture, and artwork from all over the world.

If you don’t fancy cooking, we can organise a private chef to create delicious home cooked breakfasts using local produce, atmospheric candle lit evening meals, or simple sharing suppers. If you are celebrating something special the owners work with a range of local, brilliant and talented suppliers that will happily bring the house to life in any way you choose.

Our team are here to help plan your holiday.
