Meribel Bars & Après
Meribel has an array of bars to suit all, whether you're looking for wild après ski or a tranquil glass of delicious red then you can find it all here. Here are a few of our favourites:
APRES
Lodge de Village

Moments from the F&P chalets with great live music every other night. This intimate and welcoming bar has an electric après atmosphere. F&P think this is the best après in Meribel especially when they have local music playing. Crowd surfing and toffee vodka drinking is common place here. With drinks considerably cheaper here than rest of Meribel, there's little reason to go anywhere else once in the Village! The lodge is family-friendly and great for all generations.
Le Rond Point, Meribel

Voted one of the best Après bars in the world. The Rond Point is well known for its crowd surfing antics, superb value happy hours, and it lively and enthusiastic bar staff. The 'Ronnie' is great for people watching and dancing in ski boots - ski down from here in the dark once après finishes at 7pm.
Jack's Bar
Jack's Bar also offers good après ski for the younger crowds with good value Happy Hours and Toss the Boss - don't ask!
La Folie Douce
Watch this space for Meribel's own Folie Douce coming for winter 2012-13. We hope the rumours are true and the famed après ski bar, known for pumping the music high up the mountain for the party goers among you, is going to be opening up in Meribel this winter.
BARS
Barometer

Well located in the centre of town, Barometer is a slightly more upmarket and comfortable bar showing live sport. It's very easy to find yourself propped on a bar stool here until the early hours.
Le Pub
Meribel's largest bar. Popular from 10pm onwards where live bands play every night; dance away in the 'mosh' pit. A favourite with the Brits and a proper Alpine pub - grubby, loud, cheap (relatively) and open until 2am.
La Taverne
Similar in feel to the Le Pub, but not as big or battered! Good prices, live bands, open-mic nights, pub grub and sunny terraces over-looking the hustle and bustle of the town.
Scotts
Situated underneath Le Pub, this is the quieter alternative. It does have occasional has live music, a pool table and bar snacks if you haven't had a chance to eat. A good place to come for a chilled drink.
Bar au Vin

Without a doubt one of Meribel's finest. This tiny, French run wine bar is discreet for a romantic drink or a chance to experience 'real' France and sample some of the most delicious and inexpensive wines. Run by Mag, she will help chose the right wine for you and serve you plates of Savoyard cheese and meats to soak it all up. You won't want to leave.
50:50
A smaller bar, with a cosy atmosphere if you want to escape the mayhem of some of Meribel's other watering holes. They serve sushi and also have a great electric shock game!
Le Poste
You feel like you could be in a bar in Paris here. Recently refurbished to a high spec, this bar is the complete opposite to anything else you'll find in Meribel. It's not somewhere you'd frequent on a regular basis, but nice for a treat and to get away from the masses. It's swanky and funky with DJs most nights and a popular Mojito Happy Hour to help you through après.
Evolution
This is a cosy and welcoming bar, made for good coffees and reading the paper in the mornings or afternoons, and for a more chilled evening drink, some open-mic or even live comedy. Does a cracking breakfast and serves good evening grub.
La Tsaretta
Situated in Les Allues, this is a favourite with the local year-rounders. If you want a change of scene from Meribel centre then it's worth the visit with live bands playing, good pizzas and cheaper drinks.
CLUBS
Dick's T Bar
The infamous Alpine nightclub - pricey, but definitely worth a visit in the early hours!
The Loft
A French run night club, quite expensive but always a fun night and a change from Dick's.
