Pistes in top condition and more snow forecast

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

When Tuesday morning dawned, blue skis and powder, it would be an understatement to say I was reticent to leave the Alps!  The conditions remain amazing, and more snow is forecast next week.

As you can see - roofs are still heavy with snow

So from London HQ it is heads down and working hard ready for skiing in April… and from Meribel HQ it is sharpen those edges - get out on the snow!

Fantastic snowfall for half term

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

After a few weeks of continuous snow the sun has finally come out.  The conditions on and off the piste are fantastic and the forecast for the half term week, starting today is perfect.  It is very cold - so we are advising everyone to wrap up as our van read -15 this morning - and it is set to continue being cold all week.

It is not often you see the ‘lifties’ shovelling snow off the top of the lift stations - but there they were yesterday - hanging by a rope, huge spade in hand!

When David booked his holiday we never expected the revival of the King - at least not 10 of them!

Snow in London… Sun in the Alps!

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

I could hardly believe it this morning - here I am running the ‘London’ office, missing out on the skiing and now look out of the window!  If only my snow tyres were here and not in the basement of Chalet Braye I could be doing a roaring trade as a taxi in Clapham.. If only a Meribel ski pass was valid on Clapham Common - oh, and it wasn’t flat!

As I sent images of snowy London to Holly - here are the ones she fired back!  Tempted…? we have dropped our prices in February and March by a credit crunch busting 15% so there are some great deals to be had.  Do have a look at www.fishandpips.com for more details.

The biggest snowman and Fish&Pips so far…

The snowman challenge was taken very seriously last week when the Keating family in Chalet Braye built an enormous new snowman to guard the terrace!
